Summary: Byakuya reviews some photographs. Well, just one.
He looks. In the photograph, about ready to -
Byakuya tucks the image away in the pile, moving on to a snapshot of his sister looking irritated at the person with the camera, her face flushed and expression far from peaceful. She looks as alive as a dead spirit can be, and he is surprised to find that is 'very'.
But Renji, in that picture - only that one; in the rest he is at ease, relaxed and every inch the gutter-scum so many have accused him of being - he is intense and bright, looking to the camera as though his fire has been banked, stretched across the seat. His posture invites the eye, catches it, the bend of his knee and the cant of his hips easy and alluring.
Byakuya wonders, briefly, who told Renji to match his belt to his hair, because whomever it was had intentions as far from pure as human- or supernaturally possible, and Byakuya likes to keep track of competitors.
Not, obviously, that the show is for anyone but him, given that Renji has addressed the photograph to him, with a promise scrawled on the back for later.
