You don’t get between a dog and its food. Keita knows this. Likewise, you never get between two guys who want to fight unless you don’t mind getting hit. This he knows from experience, with not a few bruises and more than a few tablespoons of blood to prove it.
By extension, you never, ever, get between a guy and the girl – or guy – he wants to fuck. For the same reason.
And this is why Keita is an idiot. Because any girl – and this is probably the biggest downside to all-boys schools, no girls – could probably have told him that the more someone hates-loves a person, probably the more they want in their pants.
If Keita had known that last year, he never would have let Ryu kiss him. Because Hayato owns Ryu. And when you realize halfway through making out with a guy that he sure isn’t thinking of you – like he starts saying someone else’s name – well. You get the picture.
Keita got it. He never said anything to Ryu, because, well, not his problem if Ryu and Hayato think they’d rather mess each other up than mess around with each other. Their loss. Definitely not his gain. And it wasn’t like he’d been real into Ryu, not like he’d been for Kaori, before that.
