OBD Drabble: Loss

for [livejournal.com profile] lasarus, because I promised her, many moons ago, an OBD slash fic.

Well, this is it. I had to borrow Buzzby for a little while, but I hope she won't mind. It's more Jonny than Buzzby, anyway.

Title: Loss
Rating: PG
Fandom: RPS celtic!bandslash - Old Blind Dogs
Pairing: Jonny Hardie/Buzzby McMillan
Notes: I don’t know when Mr. Hardie met his now-wife, Kym. I’m pretending she doesn't exist. That’s why this is fiction, which segues nicely into:
Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction. Resemblance to real people is deliberate, but the intention of this piece is not to imply that the events or situations discussed actually occurred.

He doesn’t really miss Buzzby. Not as a person, since he still sees him a lot. But as a musician? Yes. God, yes. Aaron doesn’t fix the tear that Buzzby put in the band, doesn’t quite patch up all the holes. It’s not the same, and Jonny misses him.

And of course things are still great and the band still plays with a fire that the critics love, but it’s not the same. Never will be, because Johnny misses Buzzby like he would miss the music if he ever lost his hands and went deaf and could never compose again.

A gift

A gift (http://www.livejournal.com/community/historic_slash/) for Emily.

Let me know how you like it.

......that's even more on crack than me. Thanks!

Well it seemed so amazingly horrid to me that I knew that you'd love it.

So do you amazingly have nothing to do this summer? You seem to be checking your journal in real time and pretty much responding to anything that I post immediately. If you're actually connected to a computer fairly often this summer perhaps we can begin an e-mail dialogue again.

By the way, do yourself a favor and go see Batman Begins. I don't even like DC and I thought that this was a fantastic movie and probably the best superhero movie ever.

To tell the truth, most of the stuff written there doesn't seem to be so good, and I don't know half the people they're talking about, so I probably won't hang around there, but the idea makes me laugh.

I'm taking driver's ed this summer, so I'm getting home around noon or one-ish.

I want to see Batman Begins - I'm thinking of going to see it with Rachel. Should be fun. ^_^ I saw that you liked it from your review, I just didn't read the spoilers.

that wasn't meant to sound negative in any way
I didn't think it was negative. I know it's short. XD

that I've liked that much in eons
My ego is going to get SO BIG if I keep writing this stuff, you know. ^_~

Do you have time to take a nap or two? That might help some of the tired and braindead.
Do you not have vacation time?
And I hope you feel better on a more permanent basis soon (because 'squeeful' only lasts so long, as lovely as it is - that's why it's so nice)!

I know it's extremely short
It's a drabble. =D It's exactly 100 words, too, and you've probably some idea how much I worked at that.

I squeed, very very happily
Yay! I made [livejournal.com profile] lasarus squee! *dances in glee*

Sorry if I was a bit late in arriving
No problem. I was prepared for you not to comment at all, though I didn't think you would do that to me. ^_~ I promise I'll write another piece in September at least - hopefully a longer one - since I'll be seeing them then, if nothing goes awry.

~takes Buzzby back again~
*gives him*

The official, respectable def. of a drabble is a piece that is exactly 100 words long, not counting the title. I have written drabbles in the past that are slightly off 100 - like, 150, or, say, 302. ^_~ Getting things back to 100 words can be tricky for me.

I would make some cheesy comment here about making [livejournal.com profile] lasarus grin, but I'm not going to. XD

collapse into a little heap of semi-dead slash addict

And sleep! ooh, sleep.... *decides to go keel over*

You're also allowed to have "double drabbles", which are 200 words, and other multiples.

I stole it from somewhere; I don't remember where. I'm glad you like it, though. ^_~
