[drabble] Aqua Vitae (tGE, Sedgwick/Ashley-Pitt, PG)
Title: Aqua Vitae
Author:
valmora
Rating: PG or PG-13, depending (see 'notes')
Fandom: The Great Escape, the movie
Pairing: Louis Sedgwick/Eric Ashley-Pitt
Disclaimer: Did Ashley-Pitt and Sedgwick snog on screen in the movie? Then they're not mine.
Notes: When I describe 'fire' here, I intended literal fire. It can also be interpreted as sexual desire, if you wish, but that really wasn't what I meant. XD Trust me to unconsciously use double-entendres.
Louis doesn’t - like fire. It’s not that he’s afraid of it, precisely; he just doesn’t like it. It makes him edgy and his hands unsteady and his nerves scream for a drink.
Aqua vitae, it’s called, and it makes Louis smile to think of the joke, because while he’d live without liquor, life wouldn’t be as enjoyable. And here, in the camp, with everything above the tunnels bone-dry and wooden, he can feel the flames itching beneath his skin, nerve-wracking.
It’s a good thing, then, that Eric kept the sea with him when the Germans brought him onto land.

Wow.
Man, I just love drabbles. (Especially GOOD drabbles. LOL.)

I have to say, the last line is my favorite. I think because it is a visual line, but also has a deeper meaning.
(PS. I'm jealous of how fast you write. XDXD How do you do it?)

Mine too. And I agree with your reasons why. ^_^
(PS - I don't know how I do it! ^_^;; I just sit in front of an empty MSWord document and write a name. And then I finish the sentence somehow. And then I keep going for ~90 more words.)
