Title: Motion Always
Rating: PG
Fandom: RPS, Celtic!bandslash
Pairing: Jonny Hardie/Rory Campbell (both of Old Blind Dogs)
Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction, written for entertainment purposes, from which the author gained no money. Neither the author nor the readers believe that it is in any way true. It may also be asserted that the author does not wish to offend any member of OBD, most especially Messrs. Hardie and Campbell (as well as Mmes. Hardie and Campbell).
Notes: I happen to know that Mr. Hardie is married and that Mr. Campbell wears a ring on the fourth finger of his left hand, presumably a wedding ring. I ignored both these facts.
Also, the last line? Sucks. Suggestions for improvement welcomed with tears in my eyes (and does anybody else find it pathetic that I almost spelled 'welcomed' as 'welcolmed'?).

Rory moves, always and incessantly, his feet and his hands and his eyes. He taps his feet and walks in circles, aimless and even with pipes in his hands, concentrating on the notes and the bellows and the bag. Jonny has learned to get out of his way when he's involved in the music, because otherwise he just gets walked into, or Rory trips while trying to turn while hunched over his instrument and the pipes squeal and everything just falls apart. Better to get out of the way, to let him pass by, the sticky-humid warmth of him radiating in the late-summer heat of Chicago, reassuring and steady despite his constant movement.

Better to concentrate on the music than on the man, for Rory's music will stay in Jonny's mind longer than Rory will stay beside him.

Rory will stay *still* beside him

And bring Music for me. You promised.
