[tGE] Remembrance Day (gen, Louis)
Nov. 11th, 2005 12:11 amNot mine. All to MGM/UA and Paul Brickhill.
It's been long enough that Louis forgets, in the bustle of nephews and friends and living. Forgets the still dust of the German summer, dry above the ground and damp and cold beneath it.
Well, perhaps not forgets. There are moments when his eyes unfocus, his vision blurring - he has become so old, in the years since - and he almost thinks that Mac is there, trudging down the other side of the street, or that Cavendish is the pipe smoker beside him at the newsstand. He knows better, of course, but for that moment, he believes they're ghosts.
Better to keep remembrance to one day a year. Roger won, and to waste the victory on regret is an insult to them all.

Date: 2005-11-13 02:51 pm (UTC)It comes from childhood. I used to tell myself stories in dialogue-only format. =)
Unless you want to add some future thing
I think if we add too much, then it loses its focus (and therefore its impact). Maybe we should just keep that in mind. Or maybe change the older sisters' ages in the AU so that Veronica (the elder) is already married, with munchkin, while Cecilia is...er...um... a part-time local college student (this explains why she's still living at home? Or should she be away?), and then you've got Eric as a high-school senior. Or something. And then it can happen.
Although it's funnier with grown men, really.
Because, I mean, if we did it in the Epic, it would be like -
Veronica: Here, take the baby.
Eric: You know what's going to happen.
Veronica: Yes...
Eric: Then why do you keep DOING it?
Veronica: Because it makes me laugh.
Eric, to Louis: Please tell me your brother doesn't have kids.
Louis: He doesn't.
Eric: Why don't we move -
Louis: But my cousins all do.
Eric: ::huddles in corner to cry::

Date: 2005-11-13 05:55 pm (UTC)Well, it's been really helpful to me in the past few months. XDXDXD
I think if we add too much, then it loses its focus (and therefore its impact).
We have a focus?
... Just joking. Kinda. But I do know what you mean. We should try to contain these stories to what little plot we do have.
Or maybe change the older sisters' ages in the AU so that Veronica (the elder) is already married, with munchkin
'S fine with me, if you want to work it in/write about it.
while Cecilia is...er...um... a part-time local college student (this explains why she's still living at home? Or should she be away?)
College student soungs good, especially considereing Eric's age. She could live nearby, but I think it might be weird for her to live at home. Most college students don't while they're in college. But she could still visit on weekends, and whatever says she doesn't have classes.
Eric: ::huddles in corner to cry::
You're always making poor Eric cry. ::laughs:: It makes me happy. (He's kind of turning into a crybaby. O.o)
Also? Veronica cracks me up.
--> Eric: Then why do you keep DOING it?
Veronica: Because it makes me laugh.

Date: 2005-11-13 08:35 pm (UTC)Yay!
We should try to contain these stories to what little plot we do have
First, though, we have to decide on what that plot is...
if you want to work it in
Only as an outtake. Teenage boys all hate babies, really.
But she could still visit on weekends
Sounds good to me.
whatever says she doesn't have classes.
O.o ???
You're always making poor Eric cry. ::laughs:: It makes me happy.
Which is really all the explanation you need for why I do it. XD
He's kind of turning into a crybaby. O.o
A little. But only as a joke. In the real AU he'll hopefully be slightly more stable. =)

Date: 2005-11-14 05:43 am (UTC)I meant whatever days she doesn't have classes.
Does he have to be more stable? I mean.... Ehehehe. ::Sheepish laughter::

Date: 2005-11-14 12:49 pm (UTC)Yes. Um. ::blank, wide-eyed stare::
I thought we had a good start with the little Ashley-Pitt RP thing that we did via email... ^-^
I mean.... Ehehehe. ::Sheepish laughter::
XD I said slightly, not "lots." But do keep in mind that one probably doesn't get promoted very quickly in the Navy if one falls to pieces all the time...

Date: 2005-11-15 12:27 am (UTC)Ashley-Pitt RP thing? Which was that?
True about the Navy. Ah well. We could save the nuerosis for the AU. But I know what you mean. I'm mostly joking. Mostly. XD
