[Bleach] Fixed and Broken (Hinamori, Aizen/Ichimaru)

Momo thinks it's very sweet of them. Not many relationships last as long as they have (she does not think on Shiba Kaien, the darling of all the Gotei 13, and his wife), and they love each other so much that she always smiles when she finishes meetings with Aizen-taichou to leave them alone with one another.
She doesn't know why it's such a secret, though. It's not as though they're the only ones, and there are certainly precedents (older Captains of Fourth and Eleventh Division were married once, a long time ago, and they were both women).
Momo tells Aizen-taichou this, one day after she sees Ichimaru-taichou leave with red-blush streaking his cheeks and Aizen-taichou is smiling warmly enough that it makes her feel sweet inside for the both of them. Tells him that if he wanted, if they asked, the Forty-Six would probably let them, because Aizen-taichou and Ichimaru-taichou are so kind to everyone that no one would find it in themselves to say no.
He smiles at her, the warmth of it diminished by far from the look on his face when he watches Ichimaru, and brushes a hand over the top of her head.
"It is possible," he says, but the next time, she hears them shouting, their voices low and intense though she cannot make out the words, and she cries into her hands because she did not mean to hurt them, to hurt either of them, and Aizen-taichou does not smile at her for a week.
And then they do not speak to one another, her Aizen and his Ichimaru, and it is as though what she knew before no longer is and never was.
(When her Aizen is killed, when they find him with blood streaked along the wall and on his lips, she thinks it is Ichimaru's doing because Aizen-taichou told her so, and she spares a moment to think that this would not have happened if she had not spoken, and the guilt, as much as the loss, is what makes her cry and try to kill him. There was a time, once, when Aizen-taichou and Ichimaru-taichou would have died rather than live without each other, and she thinks it true still.)

Seriously, though, I think Hinamori gets a bit of a bum rap. I don't like her, but I realize that hating her is just my inner yaoi fangirl saying that she's competition, and she really isn't, so outside of that, she's really just 'meh' for me.
