yuusei_enigma, and is entirely not what she was expecting. I'm not fond of Sousuke's voice, but what the heck. Also, I am not necessarily endorsing the attitudes, opinions, or actions portrayed in this fic.
Warnings: Implied future statutory rape (that is, sex between someone of age and someone not), boykissage, underage (and of age) consumption of cigarettes in areas where smoking is not allowed.
It's not like freshmen are the greatest things this side of the world or anything anyway, but this year's set is worse than usual. Sousuke doesn't think they were that small and meek when he was a junior, and while he wouldn't shove them into lockers or anything, they make him want to, just because of the way they shy away from him and his fellow seniors.
He finds some freshman kid hanging out in the far edge of the courtyard during lunch one time, some kid with a totally guileless smile and white hair - not bleached blond, but honest-to-God white and the palest skin he's seen since the Goth kids with the white face paint in the halls Sousuke hangs out with sometimes.
"Freshman," he says, sitting on the railing next to him. The kid comes up to his shoulders, and when Sousuke glances at him, he can't see the kid's eyes. Doesn't matter; they're probably red.
"Yeah?" the kid asks, voice low and a drawl, halfway to a Kentucky accent. "Who're you?"
"Sousuke. Your name?"
"Gin."
"First or last?" Sousuke pulls a cigarette out of the pack in his pocket.
"Personal."
"Smartass," Sousuke tells him, and lights up.
"I don't think you're supposed to do that on campus," the kid points out gleefully, but it's not the kind of glee that means I'm shocked and going to turn you in; it's the kind of glee that means, Oh, good; someone else is doing that.
"How would you prove it?" Sousuke asks. "Besides, I'm legal. Nicotine craving got you too?"
"Like anything," the freshman says, but instead of taking the offered cigarette like a normal person, he kisses Sousuke, breathes in the air Sousuke breathes out.
Sousuke doesn't do anything scary like kill him, 'cause what the fuck, he needs to get laid anyway, and if the kid's willing he's not going to argue.
The kid grins up at him and winks, opening one dark-red eye momentarily before closing it again as he tells Sousuke, "Harder to get caught smoking that way." And there's really no disagreeing with that.

Actually, that could be a series of snippets for our favorite ships - you know, Jyuushirou/Shunsui (although I think Shunsui really has no reason to complain), Gin/Sousuke, Renji/Byakuya - and categorize the different ways their partners react.
