[Bleach] Some Interpretation (AU, 5/3)

Disclaimer: These guys are so cool they couldn't possibly be mine.
Warnings: AU - college professors written by a high school student.
Notes: For Angela. Because the Gin plushie was too good to resist. Summary: French class is over. Lunchtime begins. Gin wants to spend it with Sousuke.
Class ends just in time for lunch - one in the afternoon, after the noon rush at the lunch halls but still early enough that the kids haven't been passing out from hunger - and Gin passes by them on his way into the classroom, fighting the tide of students and lightly tempted to make a joke about spawning salmon.
He doesn't. He already knows what the reply would be - something about different tastes or infertile sex, cutting and witty. He smiles, patting one young woman on the shoulder; she's in his multivariable calculus class, very cute. Adorable, in fact, like a small kitten, easily played with and easily damaged. He thinks her precious.
Gin hears from his spot in the now-cleared entryway, "Comprends-tu ce qui est dit? On y parle du Serpent et de ses artifices. Tu viens à mentir et te voilà propriété du démon. Prétends être celui que tu n'es pas et te voilà le démon en personne. Je crois que ces conclusions sont assez tristes, surtout quand on se souvient qu'il était homosexuel..."
"....eh, bien," the kid agrees, and Gin wants to laugh and does so, feeling quite unliterary, because when was he ever known to repress his own urges?
Instead he says, from the doorway, leaning against the jamb, "Il a trop faim pour penser comme toi, Sousuke. Sois gentil." To the kid, "'S after lunch okay to finish this?"
The kid shrugs, hands stuffed in his pockets. He is blond, wide-eyed with a haircut that makes his hair fall in his eyes to make him younger than his real age. Gin thinks him quite adorable, for someone who is doubtless hopelessly bad at math. "Sure," he whispers, as though frightened by Gin's proximity, and makes a quick exit out the door past him.
"It would seem that you've made him flee in terror," Sousuke observes, amused, watching Gin come towards him from his seat on top of a desk. "It gives you quite a bad reputation here in the French department, you know."
Gin, knowing that Sousuke is watching, in an old pair of jeans because he's not teaching anything important today, cants his hips to one side, weight on one foot, gaze meeting Sousuke's. "Watch me care," he says, very carefully. "You see how your door is open?"
"Indeed?" Sousuke asks, as though he didn't already know the end of the conversation the moment it began.
Gin doesn't finish the thought. Sets a hand on his shoulder, kisses him, slow and hungry, a familiarity to it that tastes of old books and physics and something that, if he didn't know better, he would call love.
The conversation goes something like this:
Aizen: So, you understand what he said? It's the snake and illusion in that section [of the book]. You lie and you belong to the devil; you pretend to be something else and you are the devil. It's very sad, I think, especially when you remember that he was gay.
Kid: um, okay.....
Gin: He's too hungry to think like you, Sousuke. Be nice.

"Finalement"
To me that seems to be a cognate with the English 'finally' - does it actually connote the last item in a series? Because if it does, that wasn't really what I wanted (and if that's the connotation 'alors' has, tell me).
Comprends-tu
Kids taking French in the USA are usually told that inversion is formal and unnecessary between friends. Is that true, or is this a situation where inversion just makes sense from a social-graces standpoint? (because Gin = casual, as far as I see him, and if inversion is formal, then it would be silly for him to use it unless its use were necessary)

I was trying to imply that he didn't understand and was just, as Americans say it, "nodding and smiling" - agreeing with Aizen because it was easier than drawing attention to his lack of understanding. Is there any phrase to indicate that? (in English the phrase would be, "um, okay," so you see where my mistake comes from)

Is there a slang version of "enfant" that would get across Gin's informality but still make sense?
trop pressé
Does that have connotations of being stupid because of hunger?
Soit gentil
Is that a command? I wanted to use the second person because I thought the subject of the phrase was 'tu,' but I may be mistaken.

(would it make sense to have Kira say 'um, bien' in response to Aizen because, after all, he's not a native speaker and he'll probably make many of the same mistakes I do? Just to show that he's a student)

How do you want me to be angry? *love hugs and hugs Valmora back* It's possible that i'll do more english gramma mistakes because i'm typing in the dark but i'll try to be the more explicit and simple possible. Honestly, it's a pleasure to see someone trying her(him)self with french ! So, i don't have an unending patience, i'm just supporting your efforts. But thanks anyway ^___^ ! ho ! So, going back to the fiction.
"alors" doesn't mean 'tell me' in your former sentence. It used for the end of an explaination or for begging an explaination.
exemple :
Il m'a pris ma règle en fer 'alors' je l'ai frappé. / He took my steel ruler 'so' i hit him.
Murray sortit du bureau du directeur avec un air triste. Nicolas l'attendait , anxieux, et lui dit :
"Alors? "( sous entendu : c'était comment? )
Murray leaved the provisor's room with a sad face. Nicolas was waiting for him, anxious, and asked him :

"Finalement" (not Ginallement like i was typing ^^''' My, my Gin is too much on my head ! ) actually means 'Finally' and 'eventually'. I translated it that way because i tought it was the end of a study session. I tought that Aizen made Kira works on an excerpt and made him doing a summarize.

Hey ! dear ! you once said it was Aizen who was speaking that passage ! *confuse* But anyway, the problem isn't here. French have some strange rules. One say "even if you are writing a speech, dialogue; you can't wrote as you were speaking." It's rude in french ^^ !
"Bien!"
Means many things. "Bien joué ! Well done !" "Bien. Understood." (here, it's have more a military mean. ) Or that can be use bewteen friends.

"Okay !" / "Bien !" ( but, well, if it's me i would more say "Yep, ma'ham" but it's a gramma correction so i'll not begin playing dumb XP )

All the paradox of french ! If Kira would be a bit insolent he could say 'Euh certainement'(eh certainly ) but as he is a cute, shy, broom-in-ass type ... he can't... definitively not. So i would say "Euh ( or 'eh' as you want )d'accord". So he agreed with Aizen but don't say he understand.

Um how should i explain it?... 'He is too hungry to think like you' can't be translated litteraly in french. It doesn't make any sense ^^ ! The translation of your sentence was "Il est trop pressé de te ressembler" or "il a trop envie de te ressembler." ( maybe the second one is even better ). No more, no less.
"Soit gentil"
It's not a command and it also a redundant 'sentence' for sex 'Soit gentil/doux'... ^^' I thought it would perfectly fit Gin XP *run*
At least, Val isn't stupid at all and Lil' did a message far more longer than Val !!!

I think I was just being dumb again. ^_^;; In English, 'so' can be used as a lead-in to a new track of conversation - "So, what did you do this weekend?" ("Qu'est-ce que tu as fait ce 'week-end'?" par exemple. En anglais, on commence cette phrase avec 'so' si on parle 'sans formalité' et si on veut commencer une nouvelle partie d'une conversation. Cela ne demande pas une explication quand on l'emploie comme ça.)

LOL! Modern English literature is much more relaxed. It's in fashion to write dialogue in literature the way one would speak - and if the passage is written in first person, it's written as though the entire passage were being spoken aloud. I didn't know that French did that!

Can be used in many way XP ! I'm pretty well aware of that... My teacher love my so-so sickness... I use it ( too much ) on every dissert i do XP. So 'alors' can be use as you said BUT you can't spliting it 'cause it make no sense. ( writing rules, here we go...again. French is truly not simple when it comes to write... The master with french gramma was Victor Hugo, who can write ONE sentence in two pages XP ! He was silly but a genious and a great man... and also great writer ! [ He wrote 'Notre dame de Paris'/'The Hunchback of Notre Dame' if you know that book ]

Gamin : child who has truly... a child mind. ( the boy who look under girl skirt is a 'gamin' )
Gosse : child in slang
Marmot : child in familar language. An old word.
Morveux : child who is dirty and educationless. It's mean ^^'

The English equivalent is Charles Dickens (A Tale of Two Cities, among other works).
(Victor Hugo is really famous in the US because Les Miserables was made into a musical that is extraordinarily popular on Broadway and has been touring for a long time. Hunchback of Notre Dame was made into a Disney cartoon that's somewhat popular)

French literature, I guess, has a different tradition. =) There's nothing right or wrong about it; it's just different. (But now if your teacher tells you your essays in English sound too casual, you can tell her what I told you!)
While we're talking about traditions et cetera, what are the rules for punctuation in French? And can you explain quotes? (My French teacher evades answering. It's depressing.)
Subjonctif can be [used] for an order, supplication, prayer or [counsel].
So what construction were you using when you said "Soit gentil"?
