Investigative journalists, doing awesome groundbreaking persistent investigatory stuff! Making history! Putting the Watergate scandal on the national consciousness! (And, also, in this version, they done sex!)
WOODWARD/BERNSTEIN FROM ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN. MY LIFE IS AS NO TELLING.
Had to mention this because not only is it good fic but also, Woodstein. Gosh. Jonathan Byrne was originally ripped off of them, back in the day. I spent years obsessed with that movie until I saw The Great Escape.
....I'm still fascinated by Watergate. It's my favorite period in history.
