Dec. 31st, 2006 10:51 amTitle: Agincourt
Rating: PG-13
Fandom: Bleach
Pairing: ZOMG 53 AGAIN (I almost typed that as “aigan” o.O;; )
Disclaimer: not mine, yo. belong to kubo tite and all the people to whom he has licensed “Bleach”.
Notes: CURSE YOU GALI FOR EVER GETTING ME INTO THIS FANDOM. Oh, and more stuff based on pics by Tsubaci (http://tsubaci.gozaru.jp ).
They’re not going to lose. They can’t because Gin has faith in this plan, that even though he doesn’t understand it and Aizen-sama won’t tell him the whole of it that it will work. Even with something crazy happening, even if something new shows up that they don’t understand, even. Aizen-sama knows what’s going to happen, within reason.
It’s the total lack of reason that Gin is worried about, and what he thinks Aizen-sama maybe should be, because. Well. Mice and men, and Gin knows all about that; Shinsou told him. Best way to understand your prey is to think like it, and so all foxes know mice better than the mice know themselves… Gin is afraid that the fact that their foes are often stupid, and often lucky, and often work not with reason and logic but with instinct mean that they’ll be able to think of something that Aizen-sama won’t be able to compensate for.
For some of it he’s right. It seemed the same, and then those stupid kids started pulling out tricks that Gin had never seen before, and for a moment there was something in Aizen-sama’s eyes that shattered his faith in his lord. Let him know that for all the logic and planning and lies and illusions in the world Aizen couldn’t have changed this, couldn’t have won.
That doesn’t mean he doesn’t still support him, doesn’t still respect him. No reason not to; Aizen hasn’t failed until this moment, and Gin doesn’t really hold it against him. Gin wasn’t in it for the winning, anyway, so he just says, “Been wanting to do this for forever. Captain.” And leans over that throne, too close for propriety and certainly too close for him to not be broadcasting his intentions to anyone with an instinct for this sort of thing (though perhaps not a sense only of logic) and just–
Well, by the time Aizen has woken up enough to realize what’s going on they’re not going to finish with this anytime soon. And Aizen is clinging to him with all the hope of the betrayed - Make the world make sense again, make it bleed red and not green, make power work the way I always thought it did - and Gin is holding on to him with all the hope of the lost.
