[Bleach] Kept (53, R)

This was a really difficult piece to write, I have to say. >.< I'm still not completely happy with it.

Title: Kept
Rating: R
Fandom: Bleach (Belach, yes.)
Pairing: Aizen Sousuke/Ichimaru Gin
Disclaimer: Aizen + Gin =/= mine.
Notes: Inspired by this NWS image at this site. ETA: The art site has since been taken down. I am respecting the artist's wishes and will not be redistributing the pictures.
Summary: Sousuke's past shouldn't matter but it does.

Notes part 2: Part of what inspired this piece was learning (and probably misinterpreting) that in traditional Japan, kissing was something prostitutes did (I guess they learned it from the Western sailors, since I've heard that kissing is Western, not Eastern), and respectable people didn't unless they were with prostitutes.

This fic has been translated into Italian by [livejournal.com profile] juna89 here.

He learnt it -

Gin knows he shouldn't be thinking this. Not now, not with his back pressed heavy into the bed and Sousuke above him in a curve of skin and sweat and muscle. It shouldn't matter, what they bring into this bed; anything not themselves should be left behind, shed with their clothes.

It shouldn't matter but it does. He feels Sousuke's hands on his shoulders, tangling in his hair, and he wonders if any of Sousuke's reactions to him are honest, or if they are all calculated, as they would have been all those years ago with all those others. And of course he feels that he should leave it be, but to leave that thought - that Sousuke sees nothing but another trick - lying in the bed between them seems, somehow, an insult.

Maybe it is. Maybe the way Sousuke kisses, slow and deep, is meant to remind him every time of where Sousuke came from, that Gin was never the first. He thinks it's probably that, because the alternative - that Sousuke wants to give something of himself, wants to use what he learned all those years ago for Gin - is impossible, too kind to be true.

And Sousuke, bent over him, touch too gentle against Gin's bare skin, is smiling too much to believe it is anything but a reminder, to believe that he doesn't know that despite all intentions, Gin has brought more than sex to this bed.

And you used /tangle/. Good work, my dear, good work. X3

*luffs back*

Of course I did? How could I not? We were talking about it!

tangle... ah ! enchevêtrement ... et hop un nouveau mot dans le dictionnaire !

Sexy... good fic and lilindey out of words...

You and your last lines... gaaaaaah *stares*

Gin has brought more than sex to this bed.

*omega puuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr*

your last lines
I'm very picky about last lines. I'm glad you like them. ^_~

Tangle=enchevêtrement/enchevêtrer.

j'ai dû aussi trouver "solive" ['beam' en anglais]
Solive... i don't understand that word ^^'...

(qu'est-ce que c'est 'hop'? Un/e onomatopée?)
Hop? C'est une onomatopée!!!! XD When i take my dictionary, i can read onomatopée = onomatopoeia. It's one syllabic word often used in comics ( or manga ) 'bam' for a hit... 'Splash' for water... etc, etc...

I'm glad you like them. ^_~
As i said earlier : i love your style ! And when i read your fanfictions, i truly thinks you are right to be picky with you last lines ^___^ !!!

[identity profile] valmora.livejournal.com 2006-06-17 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
Solive
I think it's a long piece of wood that is used in building to hold up the roof. (this is not a technical definition, so I may be wrong.)

Hop
What is it an onomatopoeia for, I mean. (sorry about the lack of clarity)

i love your style
Thanks! =D

Hehe, what is it about the word "tangle"? Just a turn-on word, or was it something specific that you were talking about?

Anyway, I really liked this even though I have no idea who these people are. :P One thing – what is the "he learnt it" at the beginning referring to?

[identity profile] valmora.livejournal.com 2006-06-15 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
what is it about the word "tangle"
Gali ([livejournal.com profile] yuusei_enigma), on Skype earlier, was talking about how she loathes the word 'finger.' My reply was that I felt no particular hatred for 'finger' but that to mitigate any badness she could pair it with 'tangle' for the consonance. ^_~

I have no idea who these people are
They're from the anime "Bleach", which is very good if you like that sort of thing. The premise of "Bleach" is that there are people, called shinigami, who are supposed to defend humans from soul-eating monsters called Hollows. To this end, there is a paramilitary organisation composed of shinigami (vaguely reminiscent of samurai), and it has thirteen divisions, with the head of the first division being the head of all the divisions. Aizen Sousuke (Aizen being his family name) and Ichimaru Gin (Ichimaru being his family name) are heads of the fifth and third divisions, respectively. (Aizen looks like this (http://ichimaru-gin.blog.jeuxvideo.com/images/mn/1135010087.jpg) and Gin looks like this (http://bleach7.com/information/guide/manga/3.jpg).)

what is the "he learnt it"
It's intended to be Gin cutting himself off mid-thought about Aizen. I guess that's not clear until the end - essentially, what it's meant to be an abbreviation of is the thought that Aizen learned how to be good in bed because of what he used to be, that is, a prostitute (this is NOT CANON. AT ALL. where it came from is kind of complicated; thanks for reminding me, since I need to put in an author's note).

[identity profile] cbizkit.livejournal.com 2006-06-15 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Aww, even just from their pictures I think I'd slash them. I knew they were from Bleach, but didn't really know anything about the characters. (OMG military!slash!)

Haha, non-canon prostitution, eh? I was wondering if he was just kind of a slut. XP

[identity profile] valmora.livejournal.com 2006-06-15 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
even just from their pictures I think I'd slash them
Well, they're also compatriots in crime, and Gin used to be Aizen's vice-captain before he himself became a captain and stuff like that. I'd tell you more, except it's spoilerific. Go read. ^_~

OMG military!slash!
The military aspect isn't very involved - it's more of a samurai honor code thing.

if he was just kind of a slut
Well, apparently kissing in Japan used to be something that prostitutes did (they learned it from the Portuguese sailors, I guess, since kissing is Western), so traditionally you'd never kiss your wife, since you were essentially telling her you thought her no better than a whore. So there were two ways to run with that picture, assuming that I was going to keep the cultural connotation (it's not so true among the young set, but among parents and grandparents you get that attitude sometimes, apparently), would be either that Aizen doesn't respect Gin (possible) or that he never learned not to kiss (much less possible, but more intriguing from a fic standpoint).

I liked this a lot. Short but intense! *squee*

Aizen/Gin is so tangled and twisted it kills me dead, I swear.

[identity profile] valmora.livejournal.com 2006-06-17 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
Aizen/Gin is so [...] twisted
It really is. I think finding all the kinks in it - if you'll ignore the pun - is really what motivates me. =D

Short but intense!
I try - Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed.

I love this ficlet to pieces. Especially the implication that Aizen may have been a whore at some point in his life. Been browsing through your memories and I really admire your style. ^_^

Would you mind if I borrowed that idea and played around with it a little bit?

[identity profile] valmora.livejournal.com 2008-02-03 06:02 am (UTC)(link)

I don't remember where I got the idea from - probably [livejournal.com profile] yuusei_enigma in one of our crackish conversations. I didn't at the time (and given that I'm no longer up-to-date on Bleach, still don't) see any reason why it couldn't have been a possibility. It's kind of an interesting thought, especially in conjunction with his canonical behaviour. It could make some interesting character studies -
So, yes, you may experiment with the idea in your own fic. But if you do, please at least link back to me ([livejournal.com profile] valmora) or to this ficlet. Thanks, and I look forward to seeing what you'll make of it!

[identity profile] formative.livejournal.com 2008-02-03 03:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you. I will, of course, credit you for the idea and link back to this ficlet as my source of inspiration. ^_^

The whole premises of this fic is interesting. But do you still have a link to the picture you used? The links you posted no longer work.
