Recs for the series Moyashimon, which is great fun although I haven't read the manga. It's a slightly comedic series about a guy who can see microbes. The microbes do not look like they do under an electron microscope - they're much cuter than that.
He has a pet yeast because he's the son of a miso shop family, and his best friend is the heir to a sake brewery. They're going to college.

I enjoyed the series very much. Eleven episodes and three omake.
